The Veterans Memorial Garden at Dorothy Drennon Park was created by the Oakbrook Terrace Park District to honor residents who are serving or have served in our nation's armed services. Park District Commissioners conceived of the park as a way to to acknowledge and thank our community residents for their service to our country.
The memorial space at Dorothy Drennon Park is a quiet and serene area for rest, relaxation, and honoring those who serve our country. A tree and plaque at the center of the design is surrounded by a brick path and plantings of vibrant perennials. Names and service information of service members and veterans to be honored are featured on engraved bricks incorporated into the path. There is also a seat wall and benches for resting.
