The Oakbrook Terrace Park District is excited to partner with School District 48 to introduce the new LEAP Preschool program! Extend your child’s preschool experience by joining us for an afternoon session if they attend a morning program, or start their day with us before heading over to Salt Creek Primary. Children can bring their lunch to enjoy during the break. (You do not need to be enrolled in School District 48 preschool to participate—all are welcome!)
Our recreation-based LEAP Preschool offers a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. Activities are carefully designed to be developmentally appropriate, fostering self-confidence, independence, and individual growth. Your child will explore counting, number and letter recognition, name recognition, early literacy, science, and dramatic play, all of which help prepare them for kindergarten. All children must be toilet trained (no pull-ups). Join us for this exciting new program and watch your child learn, grow, and succeed!

Preschool payments are $335 per month and will be processed on the 20th of each month.
Important registration information:
- Registration must be completed in person at the Heritage Center. The Heritage Center is open Monday-Friday from 8:30am-3:30pm.
- A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $100 is required at the time of registration.
- Your child's birth certificate is required at the time of registration.
- Automatic billing will occur on the 20th of each month, covering the upcoming month (i.e., October's fees will be billed on September 20th). A valid credit card must be kept on file for the entire year.
- If monthly payment is declined for any reason, there will be a $25 late fee. Due to so many registrations within the program, unfortunately, we are not able to waive this fee for any reason. Declined monthly payment and late fee must be paid by noon the following business day. If payment is not made by the dates indicated, it will result in your child’s removal from the program. If you have a lost, stolen, or expired debit/credit card, stolen identity issue, banking problems, etc., it will be your responsibility to notify Alesha Reed at info@obtpd.org or 630-627-6100 to update your payment information.
All forms must be completed prior to starting Preschool. At the time of registration, parents/guardians receive a packet of information outlining the school calendar, program specifics, and all required forms.
Payment
At the time of registration, a non-refundable registration fee of $100 is due. Preschool payments are $335 per month and will be processed on the 20th of each month. This is a nine-month program and by registering you are committing to the full program payment. There is no proration for missed days. Refunds
A full refund is granted if the Park District should cancel the program for any reason. No refunds are made available after September 1, 2025, unless a written doctor’s excuse is presented or the child has a special need that cannot be met by the Preschool curriculum and is placed in a program in their school district, or if the child has uncontrollable, undesired behaviors/physical aggression toward self or others, or if the Park District has determined that the program is not meeting the growth and development of the child. In these situations, a partial refund minus the deposit, office fees, and attended days would be deducted and a refund would be granted by the Park District.
