Heritage Park Redevelopment

Oakbrook Terrace Park District - Heritage Park Redevelopment Plan

Oakbrook Terrace Park District has begun redevelopment of Heritage Park, where major construction is underway. The project - designed to meet the growing needs of the community - will feature a full-sized basketball court, new tennis and sand volley ball courts, a creative play area for children, a multi-use trail, and more. Targeted completion date of the new park is slated for November, 2017.

Tales for Two's and Three's Cancelled

Register Now For Summer Camp

Summer fun starts with Oakbrook Terrace Park District! Weekly field trips, arts and crafts and outdoor activities are just the start of our summer plans. Registration begins April 3rd. We can't wait to see you this summer!  All registrants will receive a camp shirt. Camps for ages 3-12. New this year, Camp Explorers will meet at the Fitness Center and Camp Little Sprouts will meet at the Nature Center. 

Upcoming Commissioner Elections

Have you thought about taking an active role in community government? Are you a resident of Oakbrook Terrace Park District? The Oakbrook Terrace Park District has two open Commissioner positions for the 2017 election cycle taking place April 4th, 2017. Park District Commissioners receive no compensation for their role, and are elected to a six year term. Candidates need to be U.S. Citizens, at least 18 years Old, registered voters and live within the boundaries of Oakbrook Terrace Park District for at least one year prior to running.

Oakbrook Terrace Park District to Close Lake View Nature Center

The Oakbrook Terrace Park District notified its staff today of the impending close of its Lake View Nature Center located at 17W063 Hodges Rd in Oakbrook Terrace, on Friday June 3rd. In addition, it will be cancelling its community events for the remainder of the year due to restrictions in their 2016/2017 Budget.

Survivor: Animals in Winter

Winter Exhibit - Lake View Nature Center - Oakbrook Terrace Park District

This special winter exhibit will run at the Lake View Nature Center from Feb 2-Mar 20 and will feature the animal winter survival strategies of hibernation, migration and adaptation. Hibernate in a cave, crawl in a burrow, migrate like a butterfly or bird, and more!
