Lake View Nature Center

The Lake View Nature Center is home to engaging and educational nature programs! In addition, you can book a nature themed birthday party or group outing with us! Parking Information

Our small lot (ten spaces plus one van-accessible handicapped spot) fills up quickly. Parking along the west side of the access drive from Hodges Rd. is allowed but please keep close to the curb to keep the drive open. No parking along east side of access drive or parking area. Street parking is not allowed on Hodges Rd. but additional parking is available around the corner on Monterey Ave. Be sure to keep your tires on the gravel as the police will ticket if they are touching the grass. Also please respect our neighbors. We do not have permission to park in the Destination Maternity/Bedding Experts or Service Graphics lots. For large gtoups, parking is available in the lower level of the 1 Parkview Plaza building near the Oakbrook Terrace Park District Fitness Center. The entrance is on 22nd street (same light as REI). Jog to the right as you enter and go down the ramp. Access to Terrace View Park and the Nature Center is through the Fitness Center or a door near the baseball field.

Upcoming Commissioner Elections

Have you thought about taking an active role in community government? Are you a resident of Oakbrook Terrace Park District? The Oakbrook Terrace Park District has two open Commissioner positions for the 2017 election cycle taking place April 4th, 2017. Park District Commissioners receive no compensation for their role, and are elected to a six year term. Candidates need to be U.S. Citizens, at least 18 years Old, registered voters and live within the boundaries of Oakbrook Terrace Park District for at least one year prior to running.

Oakbrook Terrace Park District to Close Lake View Nature Center

The Oakbrook Terrace Park District notified its staff today of the impending close of its Lake View Nature Center located at 17W063 Hodges Rd in Oakbrook Terrace, on Friday June 3rd. In addition, it will be cancelling its community events for the remainder of the year due to restrictions in their 2016/2017 Budget.
